tangent: isn't the tricky part of a spellchecker the edit/Levenshtein distance? i.e. to still recognize a word even when misspelled - else you can only look up words that are already spelled correctly.

(I checked the comments on the last three times sunmissions of his spellchecker article, but no one seemed to raise this point...)
