I have not been able to determine from usage, but one of my gripes with MD - XCode was the sync logic seemed to sometimes block or get kind of slow at time and my Studio experiences have not been as bad, where changes made in this area or am I just getting lucky?

Yea, there have been some bug fixes since the 3.x versions. You may also be getting lucky, but I hope it's the former and not the latter! ;-)
