They really seem to downplay the sugary soda -> obesity -> diabetes link, quoting some studies and saying evidence for it is "mixed".

I thought that was fairly solidly documented and this would be one more study on the pile, but they treat the two findings as much more equivalent than I would have expected.


New very solid large scale long term review showing that diabeties risk is increased more with daily artificially sweetened beverage than a sugar beverage


Did they account for people who drink diet soft drinks to compensate for eating tons of sugar in all other parts of their diet?
