If you consider that Android 16 is supposed to bring support for Linux VMs, including graphics, to the table, then you could risk and say that it's really becoming a viable alternative to a desktop.


A while ago, a buddy of mine who works at an e-waste recycling place came across a bunch of Surface tablets. After a while, I started thinking that those might be a viable replacement for a laptop. Now that I have one of my own, I can confidently say that for me, yes, it is. I wound up installing BlissOS, an Android distribution, on mine, because I wanted to use it more like a tablet than a traditional laptop. Can't wait to try the Linux compatibility in Android 16! Sounds like I would have the best of all worlds!
