Soon iPhones will be the most smuggled item from Canada into the US. Unless you are wealthy you won't go to Apple Store to buy your next iPhone. Instead you will meet a stranger in a dark alley to buy a smuggled iPhone.
If the aim of the current administration to weaken the dollar succeeds, it may not matter. Even avoiding tariffs it will be that much more expensive to buy things in foreign countries.
Tim Cook has already made extensive political donations to this administration, and his cries for help are presently being ignored. Buying out a politician does not guarantee they will listen to you or do your bidding.
Yeah, the idea that you can buy an election outcome should have died with Jeb Bush. Like most conspiracy theories, it’s delightfully simplifying compared to the mental morass of filtering through why a candidate was popular.
(Money plays a role in politics, but most in respect of enabling a challenger to gain name recognition.)

Maybe personally, but these people (wealthy tech) elected Trump because he was "pro business" so their personal concern doesn't really matter as it held no power over their vote (only their wallet).
