Just wanted link this story here about OpenAI removing non-profit control and giving Sam Altman equity [1]. I think that's actually the more interesting news about OpenAI today, and seems to have been lost amidst the drama of Mira leaving. And also seems quite possible that this could be the reason for Mira leaving.

Reminds me a lot of the aphorism "Poor people worry about income. Middle class people, about assets. Rich people, about control." If you have board control over an organization that's desired by a lot of people, you have an awful lot of leverage to mint assets where none existed before.
