It pales in comparison but it's still the best free option besides Fusion 360, which I'd recommend if you don't mind the limitations of the personal license.



I'm a daily OnShape user, and a big fan. Initially I was hesitant to use a web-based tool, but honestly, it's a joy to use.


We Got burned by Fusion360 after spending several hundred hours learning it the “personal use” license is deliberately neutered to force upgrade. Switched to FreeCAD and haven’t looked back!


Personal fusion360 left such a bad taste. I wouldnt mind some features locked, but when you realize they are not locking just "pro" features that were hard to code, but also just pure covenience tools (you manually select all edges, or upgrade and select all edges in one click), I just uninstalled.
