As technical leader let me say technical people frequently underestimate business leadership.

In the case of OpenAI both business and technical parts are secondary to the AI research and vision that people like Ilya Sutskever and Andrej Karpathy bring into table.

I don't think openAI is being the success it is right now just because of the technical side, but the ability to allow businesses and people to use it.
