Resume: the tit birds in genus Aeghitalos are pure cuteness concentrated in a tiny pack

You aren't being called mito (myth) for nothing. Can be spotted from Portugal to Japan, always in small groups. USA has its cousin the bushtit instead.

(And is not a member of Paridae anymore it seems, so is not a tit? doh. Damned taxonomists, always changing things)

They’re in a family that is fittingly known as the long tailed-tits now. They aren’t very closely related to parids, they’re closer to Eurasian warblers.

The family has a single member that lives in North America, the Bushtit. Members of one of the Aeghitalos genera from Asia, Leptopoecile, are incredibly beautiful.

This is a White-browed Tit-warbler: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/109312751
