In my anecdotal neck of the woods I hear people very excited about sitting in their houses forever at (insert mortgage interest rate here).


Sounds like my dad, happy as a clam when the county assessor lowballed the house. "Less property tax? Well, if you insist."


Of course they say that, but then life happens.


When life happened before, you sold out. Now they'll just rent it out. Even the divorce lawyers will realize it's more profitable to have a two party rental income arrangement.


There are fewer forced sellers now that remote work is more common.
