What does it mean, "no downloading"? How is that possible?

It looks like they've selected similar fonts that are installed on each system. E.g., for the "Transitional" font on macOS, it uses "Charter", on Linux it uses "Bitstream Charter", on Windows it uses "Sitka Text", and so on. So not every user will see the exact same font, but they'll all see fonts with similar properties.

There are only 5 different fonts total displayed on that page for my configuration:

Noto Serif

Noto Sans

Deja Vu Serif

Deja Vu Sans

Deja Vu Sans Mono
