I'd be curious what the output is of the f3probe tool used in the article. I assume you have a 128GB module with the missing bits used as reserve for when blocks fail.
I'm fine with that if it's sold as a 124GB drive, not 128GB. I like to buy Intel drives because they'll sell you a 480GB drive and under the hood it's a 512GB module with tons of reserve.
