> 200 DEC Alpha CPUs

I have a half dozen of the motherboards and CPUs from that job. The story I heard was that the studio had gone bankrupt, and what i got was the last rack of the Alpha farm, which hadn't gone with the others because it had been spare and not deployed with them or something like that. There were 9 in the rack, IIRC.

I used them as linux routers and small servers from ~2004 to 2012. lovely little systems and rock. solid. I loved the security of having hot spare hardware (an otherwise unknown luxury at that job), but only had to use a couple of the "reserve" systems in all that time. Lighting kills everything when it wants to, can't blame the hardware for those.

"Otter ebay that" but I don't feel that it's likely to go where its appreciated if i did that.
