I'm not sure that's true -- almost everywhere I've worked, our developer machines have been macbooks (both in large and small corporations). Right now I'm working on a Thinkpad, but that's because the company I'm at primarily makes windows software.

Dev machines aren’t typically considered enterprise. That said, I think most dev machines are still windows — especially outside of SV.
