Have been using BB since its v.1.x and i have already built some amazing things with it. It reminds me of Borland Delphi when it launched their IDE. It feels like BB is RAD for anything WEB. Personally, i use it to built full systems, not just internal tools.

The rate of growth of the product is amazing and the team friendly and helpful whenever i needed some help! Try it out, and the product itself will convince you of its worth.

The university looks great - I had a quick skim through the "Building a form" video and it's cleared some things up for me, much more in depth than the youtube videos

Thank you. Up to now, we've lacked on the education front. Hopefully the university helps onboard users and gets them ramped up asap.

Congratulations on the launch, it seems to be getting better all the time both the platform and the docs.

Thanks. We hired a dev advocate in April and they've spent a huge amount of time improving the docs.

Budibase cofounder here - we are super excited to finally ship the dev experience of 2.0 and can't wait to see what the community build with the new dev experience. Happy to answer any questions or hear any feedback that anyone may have!

Custom components/datasources completely change the platform, being able to build whatever you want with Svelte and Node scripts really turns up the low code aspect of the builder!

Thanks for the comment. You can check out an example component here: https://github.com/andz-bb/budibase-component-star-rating

Hi HN! I'm one of the creators of Budibase, and we're super excited ... and nervous... to be posting Budibase 2.0 on HN. We launched Budibase 1.0 to HN around a year ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29242466.

Basically, Budibase is an open source GUI that allows you to connect to your database/APIs and build internal tools over the top of your data using prebuilt components (buttons, dropdowns, tables, etc.). It also comes with an automations section for managing logic and automating simple processes (email notifications for example).

Since last year, we've been working hard, talking to users, writing code and improving design. We discovered that Budibase is great for building simple CRUD apps and forms. But, we also found that when the apps reached a certain complexity, a little code was required. Users wanted more flexibility and when talking to our community, this was evident: https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/discussions/5518

Budibase 2.0 brings with it a number of new features and more:

- add your own custom components

- add your own custom datasources

- user groups

- a new Budibase university

On top of the features above, with Budibase, you can also:

- connect to multiple datasources such as Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake and more

- run Budibase on your own infra using Docker, K8s, and more

- extend Budibase with its public API

If you're curious how it works - here are the docs:

http://docs.budibase.com/

The university offers a number of videos to explore Budibase in a more visual way:

Also, you can try Budibase via the website:

Thanks! Happy to answer any questions and respond to feedback.

Have followed this tool from the start and love it.

Thanks for the positivity and feedback!
