The biggest problem with this analysis is most of the time in companies it's organizational authority that picks the solution. It usually is an argument between two sides with one not recognizing the effort or the lack of resources to make the change. Also, a lot of the decisions aren't really cut and dry. There's some reasonable chance of failure.
