One of my friends ruptured some discs and couldn't code for a year because he couldn't sit without pain. This kind of a setup would've helped him.



My back betrayed me in 2020, and I adopted this kind of arrangement for a few months when L3/4 nerve impingement made any other posture intolerable.

I used a MacBook Pro clamped onto a bipedal stand, so the more elaborate scaffolded approach shown in the article wasn't necessary.

I've returned to it a few times since, because it's so damn comfortable.
