Show HN: Historical Weather Data Downloader (oikolab.com)

This is related to a previous post on weather data API (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28595623), providing hourly weather data for any location in the world from 1950 onwards.

We've added a simple UI tool to download data to CSV to make it easier for users to download the data. You can download up to 6 months of data and up to 5 parameters at a time without signing up.

The UI is quite rudimentary and doesn't have the polished look of modern web app (created with Python Bokeh) but it does allow one to access weather data from terabytes of repository in few seconds. Our thinking is that looking up historical weather data should be as simple as looking up the price history of a stock.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

This is really cool! I was amazed how advanced it was with all the features, and I think it would be very ideal for those wanting to predict/graph weather themselves.

Nice! I have wanted such a thing many times, and been surprised how difficult it was to get weather data in csv form. Are you guys new? If not, I should tell you that a year ago you definitely did not come up in Google when I was searching for a source.

Nicely done!

Thanks for the positive feedback! We're a little over a year old so we may not have been around when you Googled.
