It is a real shame that nuclear power is an effective energy producer and yet it will always be burdened with public reluctance due to meltdowns caused by preventable mismanagement (Chernobyl) or poor long term planning (Japan is earthquake/tsunami prone so the Fukushima reactor should have been in a safer location or had better fortification for said disasters). That danger is why nuclear power plants needs to always be planned and maintained with the utmost care.


Big boom vs slow suffocation. People don't care about being poisoned daily but talk about nuclear energy and they'll tell you about that one thing that went boom 35 years ago.

The proverbial boiling frog.


It's so stupid. Nuclear power is the only way we can supplement renewables without fossil fuels and it's publicly poison.
