Somewhere in a parallel reality: poor communities are disproportionately affected by draconian fireworks regulations which deprive underprivileged people of their share of July 4th fun.

Can confirm - some of the poorest palaces where I live had the most fun with fireworks.

It takes a particular cruelty to take the fun away of those that don't have much.

It's absurd to call this cruel when there are many reasons to not have fireworks, most involving the damage to other members of the community, our animal friends and the environment.

Even giving some bread to the poor would be more helpful than this circus.
