It’s also a weird critical theory piece basically arguing that what we think of as time is colonialism.

The article is a well-written celebration of human quirkiness.

Published to a most modern website featuring all of the latest innovations.

The Amish are a bit more convincing in their Luddism.

I’m not sure why you think it’s well written, or a celebration of anything.

Unless you are claiming it’s irony.

Would you contend that the article was badly written? On what grounds?

Its full on non-sequiturs and does not make any sustainable point. If you are a person who has the gut feeling to differentiate between a concept and what a concept refers to, the article becomes a complete waste of time.

Yes, scales are arbitrary, but the author acts like they are just discovering it. I tell you, all scales are arbitrary at some point, this is inherent to how scales work. And that a scale exist does not imply that we humans have to align everything to it, we never did and will never do. Just by the fact of human stubbornness.

I think the author does not know these things yet because they weren't exposed to these problems in real life yet, and didn't have to learn to accept these ugly parts of our reality so far. Privileged US-American syndrome, if you ask me.
