As many nerds as there are who grew up on AOL, I'm surprised they haven't yet gotten together GameStop-style and bought AOL for themselves, to put into a nice retirement home. :)

If you mean AOL the closed network, think there's 10 years between the centers of those cohorts.

If you mean AIM, it was US-only for too much of its existence. Gamestop was pretty widespread in Europe, North America and Australia at least.
