I dunno, that one seems like it would be quite fussy about the type of bread, and you don't have much control. It also toasts the two sides unevenly, and gets very hot on the outside. I prefer my modern one:

- At any point you can lift it up to see how done it is, and drop it back down.

- If you're toasting frozen bread, you push the lever down and press the "Frozen" button.

- If it pops up too soon for you, you push the lever down and press the "A little bit more" button.

- If you're toasting fruit loaf, you press that button.

- The outside stays touchably cool.

A combination of the bread-temperature-sensing (assuming that's not what my one does) and the more modern features might be even better.
