More than ten years after ACC and lane keep assist were first broadly introduced, Tesla took those two technologies and rebranded them as Autopilot, conveniently removing the safety feature requiring drivers to keep their hands on the wheel.

Now they've released a "full self driving" beta that can not actually fully self drive without killing its passengers, while Waymo has been operating a publicly accessible, fully autonomous taxi service for years now. Last I checked they don't even have safety drivers anymore.

And somehow, there are still people who seem to believe that Tesla is pushing the envelope.
