Hi HN,
I use firefox and have two gmail tabs open (for different gmail ids). today, I restarted my laptop. And started firefox. firefox often loads slowly when it tries to restart previous session. and after waiting for 5+min for firefox to respond, I decided to do some investigation. alas I am no BruceDawson, nor do I have experience in this domain. so I googled a bit and checked performance tab of firefox (about:performance)
and one thing stood out, One of the GMail tab is using 160MB of memory, other is taking 50MB of memory which is a lot higher than other tabs. in fact all other tabs combined.
This happens in gmail's standard mode only. Gmail simplified view takes < 10MB of space. this has me wondering why is gmail taking so much memory and if I can do something about it?
