1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM...

Kind of sounds like the iPhone 4 (from July) with NFC support and a built-in VOIP client.

Kind of sounds like my Powerbook G4 from a couple years ago. Pretty remarkable how quickly things change.

The Nexus One also had a 1GHz CPU and 512MB RAM, and came out before the iPhone 4.

What's your point?

The Hummingbird is a whole new beast though.

impressive... I have a snapdragon 1ghz in my phone and it is pretty decent. Would be interesting to see the difference if any on normal phone tasks.

Yeah, that was my point. Just because it's got a 1Ghz CPU, doesn't mean it's the same processor.

Apple has brought out new Macbook Airs without any fancy i3/i5 processors...people should understand that there more to a device than just hardware specs. How many times have we seen great specs and a failing device...

It's because nvidia and intel can't play nice and apple decided using the nvidia built in gpu/northbridge and an older cpu generation is a better comprimise than going with intel's inferior gpu/northbridge.

You're sort of missing the point.

Actually, the iPhone 4 hums along at 800mhz.

And?

By comparing it to the iPhone 4 are you implying that it shouldn't be release because Apple 'scooped' them on these specs. They should just kill the project and redesign with better specs in an attempt to 'beat Apple?'

The specs are nearly identical to the Galaxy S/Captivate etc.

Yes, as a former owner of Galaxy S, it is pretty much the same phone but I used to love that phone. Now using a myTouch 4G and appreciating the screen quality of the Galaxy.
