This isn't even talking about fake news anymore, this is just "censor people I don't like". No thanks.

This does really sound like just another way of wording 'website owners should be legally responsible for what users post'

Ya know leading to that whole mass censorship scenario.


It makes you wonder how these people got all (rightfully) annoyed at the whole article 13 thing, yet in the same breath seemed to call for the exact same thing here. Not saying they're technically quite identical, but the gist seems to be.

Either way, society needs to realise that shutting down views you don't like isn't the solution, and that these attitudes could kill what made the internet so successful in the first place if left unchecked.
