If you're worried about the domain github.blog, be aware it's what blog.github.com redirects to. I really hate what's happened with TLDs, but at least this one is verifiable.
At FastMail, when we moved from our old in-house blog engine to Ghost(Pro), we moved from blog.fastmail.com to fastmail.blog, because the blog engine was being run by a third party, and if it was at blog.fastmail.com then we’d be giving our *.fastmail.com authentication cookies to said third party. So it was always going to have to be a different domain; then it’s just a matter of fastmail.blog being nicer than fastmailblog.com.
Hi! Thanks for clarifying this for everyone. Yes, we just migrated the blog, so both `github.blog` and `blog.github.com` work.
(I'm the open source PM at GitHub, for context... and yes I realize that's not directly verifiable from my sn here so feel free to tweet at me if you want to check: http://twitter.com/devonzuegel)
Hey, that reminds me about Keybase. It's not talked about that much anymore, as far as I can see, but it's nice how it lets you verify your identity across different sites.
