akshell: server side javascript development and hosting. sounds interesting, but is not quite what I had in mind. it should be possible to save the application locally.

There's a command line tool that lets you make a local copy of the code & support for running apps locally is in the works.
Consider applying for YC's Spring batch! Applications are open till Feb 11.
