Yes, the essay is a terrible format for capturing life moments. Poems are a forgotten tool from our past that I think work way better. The sentence-paragraph structure is a slave to the period. It leaves no space for attention. Very information heavy. Poems, on the other hand, are like long tracking shots. They are naturally infinite. You can create a moment and stay with it. Note taking, list making, messaging are effective for similar reasons.
