Nice .. it sure feels weird, though, to be firing up a web browser to be controlled by an external MIDI device .. ;) I wonder how long it'll be before we get an Ableton Live-style app written this way ..
Oh at some point they need to get in the game. It feels like everything is migrating to the browser. Be it just for a collab on where the Kicks are in a drum-pattern. Shared sound design just comes after.
For sure, I think the biggest problem (besides WebAudio kinda sucking still) is them basically open sourcing very fancy DSP algorithms by making them visible with "View Source".
I'm building a reactor-like environment, only with code blocks of javascript and a shared, collaborative library of components. I'm hoping to make it useful for any sort of node streams eventually.
Nice drum pads, btw. This may replace Ableton when I practice with my drum controller on my daily commute.
Sounds interesting. Maybe, just maybe, we could connect our projects in a distant future? I haven't planned to go into sound alteration too much and focus on the simplicity of the tools and mapping.
Thanks! If you have any further feedback, I'd really like to hear it: me@akrasia.me :)
