In Germany there is no speed limit on highways.

*small sections of some highways

70% of the Autobahn is unrestricted, that is not a small section.

That's surprising as it certainly feels like more of it is restricted when driving on it. If you drive the autobahn you will curse that any of it is unrestricted. There is enough changing between limits and no limits to create additional cognitive load. It seems like more than 30% is restricted as time traveled on the unrestricted bits is less per km. I never received more speeding fines in my life than when I drove from Berlin to Austria and back.

A lot of German highways do have speed limits. I have driven from Norway to the UK and back several times over the last three years via Germany, I think that probably only half the motorway driving in Germany was unrestricted. And even where it is technically unrestricted the traffic is so heavy during the rush hour that you can sometimes walk faster. I have Hamburg and its perennial roadworks in mind.

About 70% are without a speed limit in Germany https://de.statista.com/infografik/16725/tempolimitregelunge...

Couldn’t it be that users are switching more and more to Instagram from Snapchat? For sure my view is biased but all my friends that were using snap a year ago are now primarily pushing content through Instagram and all are ditching Snapchat ...

1. Spend less time on binance.com

2. Spend more time on a side project I have that solves a real problem and that I've been neglecting

3. Commit new code every day

4. Decide whether dating a current girl should continue or not.

5. Talk to your family members more, especially grandma and sister

Once it happened to me that Facebook has shown me under "People You May Know" a person that was on the same WiFi as I was. We had zero mutual friends and no known connection prior.

IP address is obviously sent to Facebook

Tagging users that have the same IP address seems to be a lot less sinister then what people are claiming

I am not sure about Stripe since it is not available in our country (Slovenia), but Paymill doesn't allow processing 3rd party payments. Plus it took them 57 days from the day we sent them paper documents (they travel max 5 days to Germany) to respond that they cannot help us (since we do 3rd party processing). I was not impressed by their customer support and look forward to the day when Stripe will become available.

Why is this link being pushed down Hacker News front page if you compare it to this link Perl6: Unary Sort. Both posted 9 hours ago. One with 486 points, the other 55 points? Because the former did not receive many points in say last hour?

In my opinion I would always leave the DST on. Because people tend to go on average in my opinion to bed later than at 8 pm and on average wake up after the dark is long gone. In other words we sleep when there is light. And I think that the argument about spending more gas because people travel somewhere to play and do activities is all but a bad thing. I have a concrete example when people have a hard time exercising outside because it is dark before you come home from a job. So I vote that DST stays always ON.

Why is this not on the front page of HN anymore? Currently has 35 points and is 3 hours old. Vs an article "Math in Fiction - over 1000 short ..." that has 22 points and is 5 hours old?

My interpretation of him saying be hated is to speak and do the things you believe in even if they dont quite resemble with the audience you are in. So I think it's not in searching of people to hate you but in having the guts to speak your mind and do the things you believe in no matter what others think of it. And hatred of other people because of you doing it and them not having guts to do it sometimes comes along with it.

Very true.
