Agree, it seems to assume that the unit of mobility is something larger, like a car. When the fundamental unit of human mobility is just that, a human, since they are inherently mobile. We would do better to describe cars as macro mobility than scooters and bikes as micro. Pipe dream, I know.
Speaking only for "micro mobility", it seems useful to distinguish allowing someone to travel within a city from between cities from between continents. Sure, it's mobility, but there are different kinds or degrees of mobility.
The lead photo shows it next to a Volvo XC40[1], not a Yaris. Yes, pickups are nice at certain times (I have fit dimensional lumber into my Mazda 3, but it wasn't pretty), but modern trucks are just silly. The Maverick is larger than an old Ford Ranger yet has a smaller bed.
I'd rather home-cook and take regular walks around the district, than having to spend even more time w/ tech after for work. Work is already kind of fulfilling, even as a manager, when you still can dabble with lower-level things and tools work. But spending your pasttime on more tech? Thats so sad, seriously.
Colour me surprised. And quite some of you friggen' softies and app devs are resposible for this, this output of yours which is way worse than the perceived impact of carbon dioxide, travel, cars, etc.
Fuck you social media devs.
The fact that gasoline is significantly more energy dense than batteries is so easy to grasp that a monkey could probably understand it. Do you honestly believe that this is the missing piece that EV fans don’t get? That teaching them 6th grade physics will make the whole thing go away?
