That is the same drama on loop. It gets boring from a news point of view. Finance finds new suckers and schemers every day, so is a drama mill.

You just restated what I originally said:

> I think the challenge is that the sciences are hard and developments there are fairly slow as compared with financial stuff which moves a bit more quickly.

Cloudberg is awesome, but her articles are all about disasters and follow the same formula.

The formula is great and covers everything from airline company culture to what the pilot ate for breakfast figuratively speaking to material science.

However you wont get commentry on anything that is still flying.

That is a gem!

Pyramids and get rich quick courses beat Ponzis in that you can blame the sucker. "You didn't work hard enough, what can I say?"

I turned $0 into $100k this year. Infinite return if you exclude personal effort.

There must be a name for the human bias that sees what is possible this month and doesn't believe things might be very different very soon and change quickly.

AI has a tripple whamy that the models get more efficient, the chips will get faster and there will be more chips.

Capitalist and government money pouring in. There is money to be made and it is national security.

And to boot the cloud, big tech, cryptocurrency and gaming pouring more money into advancements in chips that boost ai.

The counter to that is that AI prediction of 10 to 20 years away has been happening since the 1950's (or before?).

It seems there is some foundational progress but it's very slow.

Unlike cold fusion there is real practical progress. No grid energy comes frok cold fusion. Millions of people are using AI to help get their work done.

> Unlike cold fusion there is real practical progress.

Yes agreed, there is progress, that's why I said "It seems there is some foundational progress but it's very slow."

Training deep networks, vectorization of semantically related words+phrases, reservoir computing for time series patterns, etc. etc.

All great foundational work, but we still can't reproduce how a rabbit dynamically adjusts it's olfactory network the minute it learns whether a new smell results in something positive/negative/neutral, which is probably the same trick used in a variety of places in our brain to give it such dynamic adaptability.

It's progress, but it's moving slowly.

Like there wont be people hooking up their LLMs to all that stuff, and more, because doing irresponsible things is seen as futurism and investors love it.

Unless one lets go of ego. The human being is perfectly engineered to raise its young. We are automota of reproduction, for millions of years.

Can it just be published on arxiv?

But then nobody cares.

So... caring doesn't scale?

But you can submit the same paper both to Arxiv and to a peer-reviewed journal, in most fields.
