A command line version by the same author: https://github.com/timvisee/ffsend

Multiple programs go by the same name "Cinelerra" for the same purpose (non-linear editing on Linux). The submitted link directs to the original (?) one.

I like that the author gives a detailed step-by-step process with caveats on the way along. However, I believe it is slowly improving. Namely, there is an online service (https://online-verfahren.notar.de/ov/home) that may somewhat ease the process (steps 2–4 & 8).

A couple of years ago, I would have concurred. But for some time already you have the possibility to use the e-ID through Postident (https://www.deutschepost.de/de/p/postident/privatkunden/iden...) which is kind of well integrated in many businesses. Moreover you have private / corporate solutions like Verimi (https://verimi.de/) that incorporate functionalities of the e-ID. There is even an alternative (https://www.openecard.org/startseite/) to the official app. (EDIT: The alternative is open-source, but so is the official app. Removed adjective.)

I really like the development that has gone into the e-ID. They even have thought out a safe way to update your PIN (https://www.pin-ruecksetzbrief-bestellen.de/)! The biggest drawback of all is the lack of any marketing, IMHO.

The official app is already open-source:

True, that wasn't well formulated.

Couldn‘t find a press release or news report on the discontinuation of HON. The Wikipedia article (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_On_the_Net_Foundation) mentions it, though.

Alternative version: HP 12C Platinum Calculator (https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-12c-platinum-calculator)

The problem with the 12c Platinum, is that it was a "ground-up" rewrite, and is actually slower than the early 80s 12c.

It’s slower? Any proof of that? I believe it is slower than the most recent revision of the 12C, but it’s certainly faster than the original 12C. The Platinum has many more registers which I find outweighs the improved speed of the current 12C. The stack push behavior of the Platinum also helps make programs a little shorter from my experience.

So the choices are "English" or "Platinum"? I guess English is a color scheme and/or material?

I think English just refers to the language for the package labels and manual. Nothing to do with the calculator itself.

They should make a calculator that works with English natural language numbers:

    compute eight plus four
    twelve

They do, it's called "COBOL."

At first I thought it referred to the comma as a decimal separator, but then I remembered the English also use a period.
