Yes! I totally agree with everyone else about Driscoll strawberries (pretty but not sweet, a bit tart), but their blackberries are awesome (although only sometimes!). I've had the small organic ones that are wonderful, but also the big conventional monstrous ones that just melt in your mouth that are sweet, but closer to wine than the small ones. I've also had just mediocre blackberries from them - I think mediocre blackberries are better than mediocre strawberries though.
I'm with you. I'd only want this sporadically, like when I'm camping and traveling or to give as gifts. I don't need it on a monthly basis and I feel conflicted about having to sign up only to cancel (and how easy is that?) within a month.
From where I sit, Starbucks Via Instant is the competition. It's a notch above the urns of Folgers Freeze-Dried in the grocery store, but like all things Starbucks, still too bitter to really enjoy on its own.
Okay, so I'm not a coffee snob. I'll brew at home in the morning with water at the right temperature, but I'll use pre-ground beans from a vacuum pack. Sure, freshly roasted tastes way better, but as long as I can avoid the bitterness from over-extraction, I'm generally happy with what ends up in my mug.
Because it doesn't need sugar.
That was a revelation to me: that properly brewed coffee does taste pretty damn good on its own, maybe with a bit of milk to smooth out the rough edges.
But the point is, I have no shortage of coffee options at home: aeropress, coffee press, pour-over, good old drip machine. And when I travel, I would struggle mightily to care less about my coffee.
That all said, I would spend $20 for a sample pack to try while backpacking -- especially if it's truly epic coffee. Bringing milk along on the trail is... difficult at best, and it would be a nice little luxury to start the day with a cup of something genuinely tasty.
But starting off with a subscription, for a product I've never sampled? Unlikely.
Maybe I'm not the target market, and I could be drastically underestimating the number of coffee snobs in the world, but I suspect that this company struggle with the current offering.
Their meals were not just unhealthy, they were off the mark entirely. For example, they had a partnership with Stouffer's. As in, reselling Stouffer's lasagna. Like the same Stouffer's frozen lasagna I can buy at Safeway that feeds 8 people. At that point I just laughed and closed my app. Why would I ever choose to pay a premium for that?
Beautiful! I can totally see myself using this. I'm sure it's in the works, but I'd pay to have more reminders and (maybe) reminders that are also customizable for a particular activity. So like, a dollar for an additional reminder (and so on).
>Don’t have a wife? You might quite reasonably think “I don’t have time to even think about that.” Don’t worry — the company will fix your social calendar for you. It is socially mandatory that your boss, in fulfillment of his duties to you, sees that you are set up with a young lady appropriate to your station. He is likely to attempt to do this first by matching you with a young lady in your office.
I can attest to this, having this very situation in action first hand.
The article actually says not to use Windex, it strips the surface. I'm wondering if Expo whiteboard cleaner has the same effect. We use Windex so I'm guessing that for us at least, it probably has something to do with the ghosting getting progressively worse.
I really like what you've done with your setup, that black moulding looks really sharp.
I had a similar setup at a small company a few years ago. We first "primed" the surface by intense scrubbing with that Expo cleaning. This made it easier to wipe later on.
We also used Tabasco sauce for tough marker residue.
It's worth experimenting with different brands of markers and different colors to see what ends up easier to clean if left around for any length of time. If you really want something lasting, take a picture.
(I have a laptop-sized whiteboard I use like that: sketch out stuff, if it looks good, snap a picture to save it.)
I've used Windex for over a year now. For me, there is no difference between the center of the board (lots of windex) and the very edge of the board (no windex).
OMG I filled in all of the fields and realized they needed to save individually and when I saved one it reset all the other fields!!! Seriously, so much effort lost.
Also, a lot of the jobs link to an external website, so I spent time on my application for not much...
Sorry you experienced that profile update headache. If it's any consolation, we've fixed that. Some of the employers want you to apply on their site, we understand that but we do encourage them to accept applications through Jr.DevJobs.
Also, we're getting ready to roll out JobMatcher which takes your profile and matches it to jobs we think you'd be a great fit for. Basically, we'll find jobs for you. So your profile is used for more than just sending along with applications :)
Thanks for the feedback and again, I know how frustrating it can be to fill out a bunch of info only to lose it. My sincerest apologies, hope to hear from you again.
No problem... I mostly remembered what I lost, it's just always kind of a wtf thing... I actually did send you guys an email, I think you'll know which one it is! Didn't mean to be overly critical, I was pretty happy with the experience otherwise.
Two Things:
1. The link to view the Github projects sites are wrong, they attach the prose.io domain to the actual domain.
2. It's cool that there is a publish button that shows if it has been published, but then when I clicked on it, it said it would be unpublished. I know I have to save first, but that was kind of bad UX. Also when I click it again to set it back to publish, the record still appears to be dirty, with changes to save. Kind of unsettling since I was just browsing to see the functionality.
One more thing: Is there a service (hosted or otherwise) that has this kind of web based editing with a preview of MY website, not just the plain Markdown? I like that non devs could edit it, but we also have our own CSS that could change the way it looks (video embedding, etc.).
