Exactly. This is why I won't buy from these companies even when conditions look good. It'll be bait and switch every sigle time. Fairphone all the way.

When Fairphone comes out with a phone with an EMR stylus built in, I'll be the first in line.

That's very picky. I'm sure there are better ways to solve your problem.

Jim not sure what you're getting at. Right now I'm stuck in the Samsung ecosystem because the S Ultra devices are the only devices that have a built in EMR stylus. They're great devices, I'm not complaining, but diversity and other options would be nice.

Okay fine, but I still want to see Big Clive ripping one apart and pointing at things with a screw driver.

I thought this title was rot13 at first. :D

Gubhtug V jnf gur bayl bar :)

PS. Honestly, it's pretty close.-

Two wrongs don't make a right.

When there's only 2 things, only 2 wrongs, one wrong is the best available moral choice, and therefore the moral choice.

No, most people don't know about this or care about it. People have other things to do.

The drama with Linux filesystems is just nuts... It never ends.

It's crazy people spend so much time paying attention to Hollywood celebrity drama.

Opens LKML archive hoping for another Linus rant.

I'm sure there's just as much political allstar programmer fighting at google/apple/microsoft/whatever too, just this is done in public.

At least Kent hasn't murdered his wife

First thing that came to mind when I saw this drama.

The stakes are the highest across the entire kernel. Data that's corrupt cannot (easily) be uncorrupted.

Bad drivers could brick (parts of) your hardware permanently.

While you should have a backup of your data anyway.

> Meanwhile, having a genetic condition like haemophilia doesn’t give you any conceivable advantage.

Sickle-cell anemia does though. I wonder if some day there could be a survival advantage for haemophilia. What if we erase the genetic code that ends up saving us from some alien virus, you know?

I'm not saying this is a good argument, just something interesting to think about.

Abuse by who? It's themselves who are against adopting it. It's just autonomy at work.

Abuse of deaf children. Being able to cure deafness in a child and not doing so isn't much worse than intentionally making the child deaf.

Parents and children ?

Sure Adults opting out of such treatments on such grounds is fine. Parents doing so to their children, not so much.

I mean you can't exactly go, "We'll wait for them to be old enough to make the decision for themselves" for hearing.

That was my first thought too. I wonder how many people would choose to stay deaf just to stay in the community.

Okay but it doesn't say why. Why should one leave verbs out?
