Musk has an affinity for figures like this, and he even had some interactions with this particular individual, who is less well-known.

Musk tried to frame the situation as if the person was sentenced for sharing memes, but the reality involved more serious charges, including weapons-related offenses.

The same applies to the AFD. In 2022, a group called "Patriotische Union" plotted a coup to overthrow the German government, and several AFD figures were involved in the plan. To now seem him fanboying over AFD is nuts.

The personal information is blacked out... and Elmo still seem to block people for 12 hours when you share the link.

What illegal actions? I did some research instead of blindly following our so-called genius who claims it's against Brazilian constitutional law because Starlink is a separate entity. It actually appears to be perfectly legal and in line with the law.

"However, Brazilian law, specifically the Civil Code and the Consumer Defense Code, includes a mechanism known as "desconsideração da personalidade jurídica" (piercing the corporate veil). This legal principle allows courts to disregard the separate legal personality of a company in cases where there is evidence of fraud, misuse of the corporate form, or abuse of rights.

If an owner uses multiple companies in a way that is fraudulent or meant to evade the law, the courts can "pierce the corporate veil" and hold the owner and their other companies liable. This means that if there is a proven link between the misconduct in Company A and other companies owned by the same person, those other companies could potentially be affected."

And where is the proven link between X and Starlink?

Edit: My comment may have sounded stupid because obviously Musk ownership is a link between both companies though this isn't by itself a valid reason to pierce the corporate veil in Brazilian law. The fundamental criteria is patrimonial confusion and so far I've not seem evidence that X operation was intertwined with Starlink. The only thing is the self-fulfilling hypothesis that people will use Starlink to circumvent the blocking of X.

The ridiculously high prices of GPUs have really taken the fun out of hardware for me. I used to follow hardware developments closely, but now I upgrade much less often so that also stopped.

I agree but it's a little deceptive. For example I have a 4070 right now and I paid $600 for it. That's good money but it is more than likely far more than most people actually need.

If you watch or read reviews, you'd think only people in poverty use 4070s. I play competitive games and everything else I want to do with this card without issues and even with gas left in the tank.

They crank up settings in reviews to ultra settings and then try to make it look like if you don't have a $1200 GPU that you have trash. Reality is that these GPUs are overkill and in many games medium settings look nearly identical to ultra. I swear GPU manufacturers pay to have ultra settings available, with their nearly imperceptible improvements. The option is mostly there as far as I can tell, simply to upsell GPUs.

Is the issue that they don’t provide a platform to Nazis—sometimes literally Nazis or descendants of Nazi collaborators, as we see here in mainland Europe?

I’ve seen him retweet a false narrative from a local known guy deep in the Blood, Soil, Honour, and Loyalty scene, who has made headlines for posting the most vile content imaginable even going to camps in East-Europe to "train for the race war". And when people makes him aware, he doesn't care one bit.

But that’s not even the main problem. If he claims to be a free speech absolutist, why does Twitter overlook racial slurs and violent threats but deem the word 'cisgender' problematic?

Yes and it just around the corner presumably next year.

I can’t comment for other countries but here the local Elon shills are mostly supporters of parties that are sometimes literally descendants of nazi collaborators that see him as the freedom of speech king while celebrating the fact that you can’t say cisgender…

I think it’s an extreme version of Schadenfreude. Wasn’t that also something that came up in his biography that he is addicted to drama?

To be honest I don’t think he believes this extreme right wing ideology but stirs the pot for his own twisted entertainment.

I got the chills and it made me even a bit ill. Musk reminds me so much of my abusive father. He's the victim. The fact that his child doesn't want to have anything with him is not because of his actions but something external in society. They are all against him. He is in essence fighting against injustice.

And in the end it's not about the child but the narcissism that can deal with the situation. They also tend to (ab)use it to leverage when they want something else or explain their actions.

That he had a troublesome relationship with his own father also is something typical. Some of the victims tend to go another path or seem to do the same. You also see that behaviour with sexual predators that have been abused themselves.

The only difference is my father did not have the wealth and the power to do a lot of harm, Musk really can.

Sure, most of us disagree with this view, but its ok.
