i logged into duolingo again recently because i want to seriously start learning a new language. i've been a user for many years. i loved duolingo.
after seeing and immediately hating the new redesign, the massive amounts of complaints about the redesign on reddit that go back months and continue to this day, and the insulting "we are always listening to your feedback" message on one of their support pages, i decided i'm going to look for a paid alternative or just buy a couple books.
So far Anno 1800 has an issue where multiplayer games only connect if I play on Windows (but single player runs flawlessly in Linux Mint.) Every other game I've played has been great. StarCraft II (in Bottles), Conan, Valheim, Northgard (so far.)
PC gaming on Linux is not perfect, but it's really damn good.
I was a little afraid when I opened up Legion TD 2 if the multiplayer would work or not, but sure enough it did, no issues! I was genuinely surprised to be proven wrong on my worries.
I use an Intel Arc A380 and on Linux it was using DXVK from day one, and therefore the performance issues Winders folks had weren’t a problem for me at all. It did get seriously better with kernel 6.2 recently though.
this was exactly what brought me back after i left as a kid
i've had an opportunity once to recommend this to a mother who asked me what kept me interested, as her kid was losing interest. i told her to get some scores for the games they were playing
There is a client and a server, so not super easy, but not hard if you have any sysadmin experience. I had a server up for almost a year once
