Great article. My father was a software engineer at DEC in the mid-80s through the 90s and we often had DEC equipment at home. I grew up playing FLIGHT on a MicroVAX, learning BASIC programming on a Rainbow, and creating crazy answering machine greetings on a DECtalk.

I've been working in IT and software development since I left high school; it was never a barrier that I went to school to be an aircraft mechanic and don't have a tech-related degree.
It's not a bank issue. The retail F&I staff at most mainstream dealerships aren't accustomed to dealing with wire transfers and literally don't know what buttons to push. You can probably get it done eventually but it will involve some delays and complaints.

We're hiring for many positions, including software engineers. Useful tools and technologies to be familiar with are Python, Jupyter Notebook, Streamlit, JavaScript, React, Elasticsearch, SQL, and AWS. For some positions, experience in biotech, pharma R&D, or other laboratory science environments is very beneficial. Nearly all of our positions are remote.
