No car parks, smaller more frequent convenience shops & supermarkets.

just an random town in the UK https://www.google.com/maps/search/grocery+store/@51.3449444...

houses/flats in the middle / near the centre of this town probably have 8 options within a 5 minute or so walk.

Id imagine its not impossible to live across the road / above a shop and round the conniver from another somewhere in the EU

I have not found the air fryer to cook in the same way as my toaster.

The AirFryer is essentially still an oven (at least mine is) with the heat coming predominantly from the top, leading to some form of "double baked" bread, which IMHO isn't the same as toasted (where the bread can be crisp on the outside but still soft in the middle)

can this be handled by a "shortcut" ? more config I know, but there are essentially CRON triggers that could be used to upload new photos to some external system maybe?

plus one for refurbing my own (not buying) a mini instead of being forced to the larger form factor.

can you share a link? my old Le-Crouset (15y/o) ones are EOL I think....

It's not a specific brand. Throw a hundreds euros at the matter and you are bound to have a really fine knife. Then you just need to keep it sharp.

Before that I had a Victorinox fibrox. A real workhorse of a knife. I suspect that it's just as serviceable, and that I am just not skilled enough at sharpening it.

You would probably get more out of getting them sharpened by a professional.

A pack of 10 tea spoons. Cant tell you how self-satisfied I am every time I make a brew and DONT need to wash up a spoon.

I went to a 2nd-Hand store and bought a bunch of teaspoons, no two alike. It reuses something, and gives you cool, weird teaspoons.

I bought a Retro Gameboy for my kids this year specifically to avoid all that non-sense.

Turns out that Mario & Tetris & bomber man etc are just as fun to a kid now as they were in the 80's

from my own experience. There are some amazingly interesting use cases for organising family life. We have shared drop offs/pick ups with another family which is a constant flow of WhatsApp messages.

I too have thought of a shared comms channel for all "incoming family business" SMS & Email would be a good start, but WhatsApp is a non-negligible channel as well.

And dont get any parent started on the 35 different School/Club apps etc

+1 Terry Pratchett

You can. I took my 13mini to Apple paid the Apple tax and now I’m happy to not be forced into a uncomfortably larger physical device for at least mother year or two
