As far as nootropics go, his choices are on the conservative side. Racetams have a relatively good safety profile, and Choline is naturally found in common food.
Yes, but that doesn't mean the form found in supplements is the same. Also, "the dose makes the poison."
In the Nineties, Wired and Mondo 2000 were good for piquing interest in nootropics but as they didn't seem to catch on (aside from off-label use of pharmaceuticals like Adderall), I put them in the same mental bin as all supplements; not worth one's time except for individuals who have documented deficiencies.
Second that - would also be interesting for English speakers learning a language like Chinese, where the average literate speaker can recognize about 5000 of the most frequently used characters.
galen - I'm making http://pingtype.github.io for learning Chinese! I don't think that studying characters is the most important thing though. Words are more important than individual characters! My program can help you type parts of a character, and put spaces between words automatically.
There's a common conspiracy theory amoung Turk's that Gulen (quite an interesting character) was the one that orchestrated the coup. He's in self exile in the US. Definitely worth looking into.
And apparently they were friends and supported each other before they became rivals and Gulen, a Sufist, was evaluated as a threat by Erdogan, so Gulen high tailed out of Turkey --given Erdogan's tendency to want to concentrate power, it looks like it was the wise choice.
first of all he didn't leave Turkey under Erdogan's rule, he left much earlier because secular forces knew what he was and the circle was closing on him. He Left Turkey in 1999.
That's the thing, its not a conspiracy theory. Everybody already believe, even secular turks like me, that Gulen was behind many things in Turkey like: The imprisonment of more than 1000 "secular" officers in the army since 2007 with the Ergenekon Operation, and later with the Balyoz operation. The irony is when we accused Gulen of being behind those operations, AKP and Erdogan were accusing the seculars for being conspiracy theorist.
I don't see this being good for anyone in the long run. It enables the user to avoid a difficult, but important conversation. It's a generally held opinion that breaking up over text message is disrespectful and tacky, and this is even worse than that to me. The generic responses send to the person on the receiving end are likely to be hurtful as well. Better than ghosting someone I suppose?
Cool! I had to try to automate creating/reading credentials for a project using PowerShell a few years ago, and this would have been very useful. Trying to use the API and drudge through the Microsoft documentation was torture.
I checked out the wikipedia article for Ashtanga yoga and I'm a bit put off by the reports of frequent and somewhat severe injuries. Mind sharing your personal experience there?
I had the same fear, and thus far I've had no problems. I think most of the injuries come from teachers being too ambitious with their adjustments and students being too ambitious with their practice. Just listen to your body. I only push myself to the point of discomfort and stop when I feel pain.
Great to see Vivaldi getting traction and attention. I did not agree with the direction Opera was taken after they switched from the Presto rendering engine to Blink. Many of the features focused on power users were thrown out, and when users complained to Opera, they were told to wait on extension developers to fill in the gaps. Many people prefer not to have to install multiple extensions and therefore have to trust multiple extension developers. I hope Vivaldi is successful in filling the void left by the changes to Opera.
Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering if antivirus vendors would be removing superfish. I'm also curious what the process would be for revoking the root CA centrally. Is that something only the superfish vendor could do? Would anyone knowledgeable about this care to enlighten me?
Revoking a certificate requires it to have been created with a functional CRL / OCSP configuration. This isn't the case here; there's no way to revoke the CA short of uninstalling it from every machine it's present on.
