What do you do? There are (were) wonderfully fast windows phones for for $20

Appreciate it hugely. It's actually the data costs that are prohibitive - I've only just started looking around, but my first quote is $39 for 2GB and 500 free minutes ($1/min after that) from Telstra, Australia's juggernaut.

I did recently think I critically needed to stay in touch (this is why I have the numbers above), but that requirement seems to have settled a little, which is why I'm less motivated to get on the merry-go-round of plan-hunting now. Chances are prepaid is probably what I'll end up doing ("yeah this is my number this week", here we come, lol).

What I _really_ want is an IoT/M2M contract, but I have no idea how to look for those :D

Oh - as for what I do, currently working on kickstarting that :) this sums up the difficulty FWIW: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15004608#15005811 (I'm working on it, it's fine)

The boogeyman dnc used to hide their mistreatment of Sanders and the resulting loss.

I don't like Muslims for various reasons, the biggest of which is his claims about self driving which are PR which will actually hurt his customers.

But hating on him for what has little to do with regular customers makes me wonder if there is a concerted effort to bring him down. I'm old enough to have seen NY TIMES publish ads for IBM and Apple in return favourable coverage.

I'd wish somebody would shit on Musk for the safety concerns and about how his self-driving claims are hurting his stupid fanboys. But I hope people will leave him alone regarding his aggressive manufacturing claims and practises (I realize that pre-orderers were let down but that's not much of a big deal). If anything there are lessons to be learnt here and respect to be shown to a man trying to do something new

Why does verge get a pass on clickbaits headlines? They're the worst "respected" offender

What does progressive have to do with "seeing X-art as art"? Who made that definition?

It isn't about seeing x-rated stuff as art, but rather about the ability to be open about sex. Traditional-minded people are rarely as open about it in my experience.

I'm female. I watch porn. So does my spouse. There is no secret there. If either of us were going to a strip club for whatever reason or visited a prostitute somewhere legal, we can simply tell each other about it knowing the other won't be angry. We can openly discuss folks we are attracted to. We understand that finding others attractive is normal human behavior, and would rather not lie about it.

On the other hand, I've known plenty of women that get angry about men watching porn. I have known plenty of men that won't admit to their wife - this person they claim to trust - that they watch porn or have visited a strip club. There are others that actively protest against porn for whatever reason. In general, you find more "porn is morally wrong!" arguements in conservative environments.

Most sane stance I've seen yet.

"visited a prostitute"

That's pretty fringe...

That in particular is, and hasn't been something that happened. But you know, if either of us want something the other isn't so willing to do, we both understand. Not such a big deal for us - though I do understand where it would be a line for other folks. And that's OK, the main point is to be open about this sort of thing and be able to discuss it without fear of the other being angry. Yes, this has been discussed in my household, more in the theoretical sense because we both have some hesitations about the other person not wanting to be involved or worse, forced by a third, unknown party... even where it is legal. My own main reasoning for wanting such a thing is because I'm bisexual, and there are lots more men available for me than women. Folks have urges and get stuff stuck in their head, after all. Being able to share these thoughts is pretty great.

The rest of it is pretty normal stuff (watching porn, being physically attracted to others), though it is stuff folks tend to not discuss openly.

Forget that he was in Navy and appointed by Obama. God the ignorance here is stupendous

Being in the Navy and being appointed by Obama to be White House Physician are not qualifications for running the Veterans Administration

He was not appointed by Obama to the VA

who?

The VA pick.

Sorry about the bad news but sync dev is completely dead. Mozilla is scared of touching that code base. So don't expect any improvements or additions there .

Though this was true for many years, there is now a team dedicated to sync development. (But there's a big backlog for them to work through!)

Page shot is fantastic btw. No nonsense clipping in Linux (I use onenote on Windows and would love if shots could be exported outside as easily as they are created)

Do you need to do something through "testpilot" to get this feature?

I'm confused if this is a feature or an addon, and how testpilot relates

Once you enable testpilot, you can see the experiments. I think the page opens by itself after enabling. Select page shot and click a couple of buttons on different screens.

I extrapolated my last year's info (which was true for about 6 years by then)

But why?

I cannot upgrade until I have a proper vimperator replacement :(

You can try either Tridactyl[1] or Vim-Vixen[2]. They come pretty close to the Vimperator experience (although with WebExtension limitations).

I'd recommend Tridactyl with native extension though (install the extension and type :installnative), as they've done a really great job re-implementing Vimperator features using a wrapper Python script (e.g. support for .tridactylrc, modifying UI[3], open with external editors, etc.)

[1]: https://github.com/cmcaine/tridactyl (use the beta)

[2]: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vim-vixen/

[3]: https://imgur.com/7vQANhV here's `guiset gui none` with buffer list open

Thanks for the tip-offs! I too have been stranded without a decent vimperator replacement for a while. Currently using Saka-Keys but not in love with it, so I'll experiment with these.

Try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vimium-ff/.

I've used it for close to a year and it's decent. It has some issues like all the other Vim plugins, but it works well enough.

QuteBrowser?

People who downvoted thid- can you explain? I see this as a very nice simplification of point 1 and am glad that _s brought it up
