I tried the 27b-iat model on a 4090m with 16gb vram with mostly default args via llama.cpp and it didn't fit - used up the vram and tried to use about 2gb of system ram: performance in this setup was < 5 tps.

There is also Open Tax Solver (https://opentaxsolver.sourceforge.net/), which has been available since 2003.

Pocketbook is a solid choice. I've been very happy with my Pocketbok Inkpad Color 3 - their free cloud offering is great for transferring my ebooks around and their send-to feature is also great. I've never trusted the Kindle jail but in my various trials with eink devices, I've come to appreciate the clean experience that Pocketbook currently offers.

I got the reMarkable Pro tablet recently and as a result was able to move on from my Sony DPT-S1 and reMarkable 2. The latter was nice for its hackability but the screen size of the Pro, its color functionality, and size have made it a great replacement.

one thing my first garmin from 2016 did for me was to make me more active, because its activity nags with minimum-enforced active time ensured that I wouldn't just keep sitting all day. Their newer models track hrv and offer ecg in some models/countries to help with heart health tracking.

Pinephone used to be able to do that a few years ago when I tried.

The Hannspree Hannsnote 2 is now available as well with more RLCD devices on the way. Biggest concerns with their first release include dark display (comparable to eink kaleido 3, but with more colors), no frontlight, and weak battery.

But that's not true anymore afaik: they get good repairability scores at ifixit and also have a deal with them to stock repair parts.
