Hamas is a terrorist organisation, the IDF is a state. Of course the state should be held to a higher standard than a terrorist organisation, this is not me excusing what Hamas have done, but if you start justifying a state's actions with "a terrorist organisation has done the same" where does that end? US state actors hijacking and crashing a Russian passenger jet into the Kremlin?
Palestine barely has much of anything left. That might change at some point and it would be worth discussing what the actual actions of "the state of Palestine" are but at this point it doesn't really make sense to do that.
Do note that this does not mean it can't or shouldn't be a state. Somalia is self-sovereign even if it's kind of bad at doing that.
Israel tried to bribe Hamas into not attacking them, yes. Was that a bad plan? Should they not have tried to make life good enough for Gazans to not resort to terrorism?
A literal reading is that sowing division among Hamas and the Palestinian Authority would prevent a unified effort for Palestinian statehood. A more cynical reading would be to prop up the crazies to point at them and say, "look at what they're doing, they shouldn't be allowed to self-govern."
The heritage of both the Israeli people and the Palestinian people is steeped in literally thousands of years of history in that land. While one group, the Jews, were often displaced from it, it does not diminish the ties the Palestinian people have to that land. A land they cultivated and farmed for, again, thousands of years. Well before formal borders of any nation today were recognized.
We can nitpick on specific words and phrases, but the broader point still stands. These are human beings who are used for political aims, whose suffering is a means to an end, and it's all happening at the hands of people who do not respect human life. Whether you want to play partisan and choose the label of "Hamas" or "Israel" is up to you, but both are guilty nonetheless. It just so happens that one of those two parties has more resources at their disposal than the other to inflict profound misery and annihilation.
The PA, to this day, pays the families of terrorists who kill Israelis. They're not the good guy. Yes, Israel decided back then that Hamas can't possibly be worse so they gave them a chance. Keep in mind at that point in history, the PA had done far more harm to Israel than Hamas.
Why would it be on the payment processor at all to determine if something is legal or not? I think that is a massive issue on it's own as I don't want Visa/MC deciding whether they think what I'm doing with my money is legal, that's for a legal system to do, not a private company.
It can. Just set RLIMIT_STACK to something huge. Distros set it at 8mb by default. Take it up with them if you want the default to change for everyone.
I think I, and the parent commenter, are just pointing out how arbitrary the limit is. It can't hurt to question stuff like this every once in a while.
There's always a limit. People only complain when it actually limits them. Most open source people have never needed to glob tens of thousands of files. If you want to feel better, POSIX says the minimum permissible ARG_MAX is 4096, and with Windows ARG_MAX is only 32767 characters.
Such as what? I found it a very fair deal, you can have functionality for your area for free, which will likely be good enough for 70%+ of people, but if you want larger regions you have to pay. It seems to me a totally fair and transparent pricing structure, without resorting to filling the app with ads.
The people who need the paid portion of the app are also likely enthusiasts, and in that light the pricing seems fair too.
Less "social" would be a feature for me. I just want one that can plan routes, track journeys, and give me directions. I don't want to be worried that I'm accidentally sharing what I'm doing/where I am with the world.
I'll do you one better: I just want the GPS data. I use https://alpinequest.net on android which is a 15 euro one-time purchase and they focus on the app, and that's all. I don't want every activity I do turn into some version of facebook.
Eh, the social features of Komoot were never intrusive to me, and among social features of most apps they were some of the most well designed. Local community, very much focused on actually sharing tracks and trying out other people's routes (and maybe commenting with your experience afterwards).
There was a guy in his 60s regularly doing very nice circular hiking routes of 40 to 60 km in our nearby forests, and apart from that just being kind of awesome and impressive to see when you look at local routes, actually walking his routes was often a very nice experience with diverse landscapes often along nice small, less used paths. It was great seeing nice weather in the morning, and then oftentimes without any pre-planning just walk or bike to the forest and just start along one of this guy's routes within a few minutes, all in an incredibly hassle free manner and with a result which pretty much always beat out just following the official hiking trails shown on signs etc. I don't know if there's another app right now where you can so easily profit from the experience and knowledge of your local community.
I do wonder what will become of the channels they invest in, there seems to be a lot of high quality ones. For example they invested in the Mentour Pilot channel, and I wouldn't say the quality has dipped since, if anything it seems like they have access to more money but the quality and feel of the videos is very similar, hopefully it stays this way.
About the OEM, are you working on having devices ship with GrapheneOS, or devices be GOS compatible (i.e. same as the Pixels)? If you're thinking of devices shipping with it, would this fix the issue of Play Integrity/SafetyNet failing? That's the main reason I am running the android on my phone, as my banks don't work with Play Integrity failing and I have to use the app for 3DS. The ability to run GOS without this issue would be huge.

As far as I'm aware as an outsider, the aim is a device that is compatible with GrapheneOS like the Pixels, yes.
>If you're thinking of devices shipping with it, would this fix the issue of Play Integrity/SafetyNet failing?
I think to pass this you need to be 'blessed by Google' which means being certified Android by their standards. GrapheneOS have mentioned that their CTS/CDD Android certification process holds back some of the privacy/security features (think things like new Sensors and Internet permissions etc.) implemented so they cannot can't target it.
Sure, but as a 'dream' portable executable is kind of funny when execution by itself brings you nothing (except heating the CPU), you also need portable IO, security, i18n, a11y..
On the other hand take something like Brexit, that went into effect well after the referendum on it. There are a significant amount of people who would have opposed/supported it who were 18 when it went into effect but not when it was voted on.
