This! We were shadowbanning people on IRC in like 2001. Unreal IRCd had a shadowban plugin that literally did exactly what modern shadowban features do.

Nope!

It doesn't send the email until after 0 - 30 seconds, so you have a chance to undo it :)

That is correct. However, would you think again if a little pop-up reminder told you just before you exited the app? To be fair though, I keep my email tab opened all day. I never close it!

I think the zeit website, for nextjs, uses this. It was always a bit strange, imo. It seems to work as the blogger laid out.
