Right now the UI is only available through a VPC deployment. We are thinking about making the data grid / query interface embeddable or available through a library which would make it easy to self host.
BugBust itself is free. You pay for usage as per normal for CodeGuru Reviewer and CodeGuru Profiler (after the 30 day free trial of BugBust and 90 day free trial of Profiler).
Not sure if you have to use CodeGuru with BugBust, they don't clarify.

So it's not free, dev time is expensive and has a lot more value than their proprietary service usage time—so they're coming out on top whilst charging people for it.
I may be being naive, but how is that different than including Google Maps JS lib on your page? I assume that component is just a wrapper around the GMaps JS lib?
It allows you to use the <good-maps> element in your markup, rather than <div class="map">. Tbf, it would be more of an advantage if it used a better name than 'good-map'.

Thanks for being one of the people working on dj-stripe! I've been following its dev for months, and slowly building it in to a site I'm building, so I'm thankful to the people working on improving it!
Hey, no I'm not famous in any way - just a lowly undergrad looking to get some views and feedback on my blog posts (I only recently started).
Your points are definitely fair, and I agree that the post could be better thought out and structured to give a more coherent argument. Thanks for the feedback.
I actually really like this hypothesis. There is definitely a distinction between long-form content and short-form content, and programming certainly lies in the former.
That's not to say that short-form content doesn't have its place, I'm pretty sure I would learn less if I didn't browse Reddit or HN during lunchtime, and for some reason I feel like reading a book wouldn't fit in that 15 - 30 minute period. But it's still a period I can put to use.
