To add to this, Canada in 2008 went through a "parliamentary dispute" that Canada's Governor General played a large part in the resolution of. While the Governor General is pretty much chosen by Canadian ministers in a democratic fashion, on paper the officer is appointed by the Queen and ideally represents her in Canada.
So I do agree that the monarchy has some influence on the Commonwealth, more than just having "the right to be consulted, to encourage and to warn".
When I first heard that multiple players can fight in the same gym battle instance, I got excited with the hope that there might be the conventional raid versus boss combat mechanics present - a main tank, positioning being important, taunts and so on.
Of course gym battles are a lot more simple and fixing the many issues both combat-wise and in general take priority compared to adding such mechanics in.

Just do what Japan does and put into place super strict vehicle maintenance and emissions standards...that go into full effect when the car is six or so years old. Though in this case it wouldn't be a truly complete obsolescence, since the owner could just spend more to keep up with the standards.
