You can might be able to monetize by adding things like probabilities or in-game calculators. One of the early Facebook mmos I played had this, and I was happy to pay $5 a month until they decided to be p2w instead.
Calling and implying random people pedophiles including a former executive, mass unbanning people, firing thousands based on very little, and pushing the rest to go "hardcore", releasing internal documents to conservative outlets so they can go on and tar everyone, and honestly just running his company into the ground which is bad because people rely on him to keep twitter as a going concern
Devs. it is a miniseries and has only marginally to do with AI. you will enjoy it none the less.
also there is Westworld.
and ghost in the shell (and matrix, of course)
Ex Machina is great, too.
I have created a software agency 4 years ago. we are full remote and 5 fulltime and 7 partime workers (some working students included). I pay myself 70k p.a. and reinvest the rest into the company. it is growing around 100% in revenue each year.
in the beginning I asked myself whether it's worth it not to just develop for a big company, but now it pays. I don't even have to work the full 8 hours a day.
Quick question: what software „stack“ do you use to manage a fully remote team? What erp (if you have any), project tracking, cloud storage, chat, etc. I am really interested in logistics of running such a company. Thank you for your time!
im glad you asked: we try to use Foss as much as possible. I have a Kubernetes cluster in hetzner with split horizon DNS (for DNS I use googles DNS solution), for VPN I use openvpn. for Chat we use Mattermost. for video chat First jitsi then discord (jitsi is hard to selfhost). for project management Gitlab professional. we use notion for documenting as much as possible but we want to switch to outlined soon. dockermail for email (but not yet automated forwarding and filtering). file transfer with Nextcloud. tracking time with toptals toptracker. docker remote workspaces with kasm (we require working with Linux OS only so if you don't bring Linux, then you have to use our docker workspace).
we get that question a lot and are currently working on a simple solution to create such an environment with a few clicks (powered by helm and the cloud of your choice)
Wow, thank you for such a detailed answer, much appreciated! Maybe, if you find a minute, a couple more:
1. why such a focus on foss? You like tinkering, supporting foss or its a money saver?
2. why switch from notion to outline?
Not much. His public feuding and conspiracy theory spreading is largely constrained to Twitter. The whole thing going under might be the best outcome for him. Presently, however, he’s acting like an addict given the crack store.
Endless announcements and mispredictions are what aggravates me the most, borderline fraud IMO. I am not so much disliking him for it, I think he's a little neurodivergent and it's not exactly his fault, but it makes me really sad there's never consequences and that so many people believe him again and again, it seems like there is some easily exploitable missing BS detector in a significant amount of the population.
He's a lot like Trump in that he jumps into everything declaring it simple and that he gets it unlike everyone else, then says it turns out this is more complicated than anyone thought.
hey there is a twittermovement called #buildinpublic where people at least show their progress in public. some to that extend that they have a page where you can see all money spent and received as well as other metrics. the user levelsio is doing that for exmaple with his SaaS products
I have my own company with 10 employees and only recently started out learning about business development. I recently took a coach for sales and she could provide valuable info. now I figured that it would be better to hire someone who does that for me.
that being said, I believe that you shouldn't wait until you learned skills X and y until you open your own company. you'll never start if you always think that you have learn more before you start
