I've always been a huge Gorillaz fan. Such a good name because a group of gorillas is called a band. They have made some really unique music that is almost a new genre.

I'm very interested in this tooling for one project in particular. However, I don't think you can assign global hotkeys or minimize things to the system tray. At least I haven't found a way through research yet.

I have followed this project for a while and it looks pretty sweet.

We truly live in a boring dystopia. It is insane to think how much money and how many absolutely seething customers this will make and it happens again and again.

I have found soft deletes to be really helpful to preserve historical references and as a simple but reversible enable disable switch.

Sometimes a really destructive delete isn't something you want to do by default.

I have seen them abused and a lot of times queries forget to take the flag into account. Every decision is a trade-off.

Imagine how many times this happened way back when. You had no real way to prove it easily.

I'd say that was the culprit of many people blaming gremlins gnomes and the like.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is a solid one. Heinlein is a classic.

Citizen of the Galaxy - despite being one of Heinlein’s “juveniles” is an interesting and entertaining exploration of the balance between freedom and duty.

It’s mostly not earth based.

Marrow - A group of people find a Jupiter sized ship of unknown origin and start a galactic cruise with many different species in the far high tech future.

The Stars My Destination

Starship Troopers - very different from the movie, sci-fi classic. Even on the Marines reading list.

Forever War - partially on Earth most in far flung space battles.

The Martian - solid Jew hard sci-fi again very different from the movie

Plenty more but, sadly sci-fi falls under Sturgeon's law.

Meant to say The Martian - Solid new hard sci-fi, very different from the movie.

If you have enough of a bond, I'd have a chat with him. I'd explain that as a smart person and valued member of the team his verbal output would really help. I'd say his perspective would be great to hear more as you know he has the skills to have good judgement. Obviously this would need tailored to the person at hand but, I have had good results with this method.

Ultimately they may never be the most chatty member of the team but some output is far better than none and encourages the contribution to grow.

These kinds of features being so limited annoys me.

Like GoPro can only auto clear a video from your sd card that has been uploaded on the newest model. There is no way that is limited to those devices. But, it probably isn't profitable to even crack open the code for the older models so they don't even consider it. It makes it worse because I'm even paying a subscription for storage.

It's much worse in this particular case. They purposefully had to lock the feature behind a device flag to prevent older phones (that still support the newest OS) from using it. I'd expect that they could easily enable the feature for all phones that also support Optimize Battery Charging.

I've used Replit for love coding interviews when we are talking with candidates. From what I have seen I don't think I would choose to switch to it for a large project. However, it is nice for quick examples of a way for someone to write small chunks of code with no setup.
